Illegal Parking
32 Radcliffe St, Dorchester, Ma, 02121chronic driveway blockage | How is the car parked illegally: [Other] Details: [There are currently no regulatory signs where this issue is happening. I have made several attempts to place calls to the Boston Police Department as well as using the 311 app for issues, which most of the time 311 closes the case without it being resolved, and the BPD takes a while to come since it’s a non emergency so the car is no longer there, once they arrive, or if the car is still there the police will alarm there sirens so the person can come out and move it, in which they put it right back after the police leaves. There is a white honda which repeatedly parks there and leave it. I also reach out to the Boston Police Department on making an effort to make a presence /daily routine in this area a little more often, as well as reaching out to you the Boston Parking Clerk. So now I am asking for help again to at least get this area patrolled a little more often.]

77 Weaver Way, Roxbury, Ma, 02119On August 8th, my car was ticketed and towed for allegedly blocking a handicap ramp. However, the citation listed the address as 78 Weaver Way, while my car was actually parked across the street at 75 Weaver Way, where no ramp exists. Despite this mistake, I had to pay both the ticket ($100) and towing fees ($200). This has been very frustrating and discouraging, especially since I’ve tried to resolve the issue through normal channels without success as I didn’t have the photo evidence for my initial hearing which resulted in denial of my case. I would appreciate if Mayor Wu could review this and ask the parking clerk to take another look. Much more evidence including my ticket and towing receipt are available if necessary! This is a clear example of negligence in terms of the city of Boston and the BPD.

16 John Eliot Sq, Roxbury, Ma, 02119We need more residential permit parking in John Square
CLOSED #101006221947Case Resolved. Thank you for your inquiry about Residential Parking. The City’s Transportation Department (BTD) is working hard to ensure that residents have improved access to parking in their neighborhoods and is currently reviewing our on-street rules and regulations to determine which are the most effective. We will include your inquiry as part of this ongoing review. We are also gathering information about how other communities address resident parking. In addition, after facing historic staffing storages, BTD has increased staff levels in the Parking Enforcement. We will continue to hire until we are fully staffed up, and are on track to do so by early next year. We have recorded this request and your contact information and will contact you with updates on our ongoing review. If there are other parking and curb access concerns we may help you with please contact newmobility@boston.gov. Earlier this summer, the Office of the Parking Clerk and BTD launched streamlined parking permit applications and a new self-management permit portal for increased access and visibility. You can find more information at boston.gov/parkingpermits.

20 South St, Jamaica Plain, Ma, 02130I just enjoyed a swim in JP's Curtis Hall pool and came out to find that my car has been towed. It was parked in one of three spaces clearly marked at 20 South Street in front of the Community Center. There are no street cleaning signs on this side of the street and my car was towed for street cleaning. I have called the police department, they city of Boston Towing Department, and the Department of Public Utilities and no one will tell me how to contest the ticket and tow fee. I have put in a 311 to have signs put on this side of the street. As a resident of JP for 20 years, I know how to park for street cleaning and move my car every week in front of my own home. To not have signs in such a valuable parking area is egregious. Thanks for helping fix what is thankfully a minor inconvenience to me today, but could really wreck someone's day. Also, Curtis Hall is amazing and the staff there are wonderful.
CLOSED #101006219623Case Resolved. To get compensation for a towing, please contact the city clerk and file a claim. You can acquire information relating to this process on our website here: https://www.boston.gov/departments/city-clerk.

Intersection Of Brookdale St And Florence St, Roslindale, MaParking sign issued in front of 193 Florence St., Roslindale, there is no signage anywhere on Florence Street denoting that there is street cleaning. I’ve parked here for almost 2 years and never had an issue. Towing company/street cleaning representative informed me that they don’t make the rules and that I should file a complaint. This is a $40 ticket that I refuse to pay and I want Boston to rescind this now or actually put signs out to denote cleaning

535 Boylston St, Boston, Ma, 02116On July 25 late in the afternoon I picked up a parking ticket that has ticket number 829890889 at the north corner of Boylston and Clarendon. Before I threw it away I decided to check the ticket and it showed it was not paid yet . I checked again today it was still not paid . Not sure if it was left intentionally or just not properly placed and blown away by the storm that day.

28 John Eliot Sq, Roxbury, Ma, 02119The residents of John Elliott squared need additional residential permit parking.
CLOSED #101006201937Case Resolved. BTD has paused the expansion of the Resident Parking Program as we review our existing on-street rules and regulations to better understand how and where programs such as resident permit parking are effective in improving resident access to parking across the City. Boston experiences high demand for parking with many competing interests for the curb. In our review, we are gathering information about how other communities address resident parking. Some issues that we are evaluating are: proximity to transit, addressing needs of vulnerable populations or temporary users, and identifying alternative parking resources. We intend to gather data and work with members of the community to learn more about these issues to develop a robust plan with established goals and metrics that will allow us to better define a resident parking permit program. In addition, after facing historic staffing storages, BTD has made progress to increase staff levels on the Parking Enforcement team, though we are still not in a position to expand areas that would require intensive parking enforcement. We will continue to hire until we are fully staffed up, and are on track to do so by winter. We aim to complete this extensive review early next year. We have recorded this request and your contact information and will contact you when the program reopens. If there are other parking and curb access concerns we may help you with please contact newmobility@boston.gov. Earlier this summer, the Office of the Parking Clerk and BTD launched streamlined parking permit applications and a new self-management permit portal for increased access and visibility.
