This constituent wants to make a request that Jamaica Plain put visitors parking or are able to get a temporary parking pass when his family visits. He called the office of the parking clerk and they told him they can't do anything. Abuse of power by ISD/Boston Public Works. This is the second time I am submitting a complaint regarding the unauthorized permits posted along the 300-800 blocks of Tremont Street in the South End. The permit number displayed is EXCA-1308131 which is for work in Mission Hill that expired 11/1, yet they slapped on new work areas and new dates. This puts residents on notice of NOTHING. I called BPW directly who said they would get someone out there immediately. Their solution? Make another fraudulent permit on Microsoft Word. They kept the same expired permit number and updated the dates. There is no City of Boston emblem. It should be noted that this permit is for off hours. Sunday-Tuesday, 7pm-6am. I have witnessed with my own eyes a large scale ticketing and towing operation that begins at 7-8pm based on these permits. BTD DOES NOT CHECK if permits are real! They take them at face value, and it is obvious that ISD/BPW knows this and therefore only updates there permits on the “face”. All of this is wrong. Everyone who has been towed or ticketed on the basis of these fraudulent permits should have the right to appeal - which will inundate the parking clerks office. It seems to me like IDS/BPW/BTD are either in cahoots, or do not communicate. Either way, this is wrong.

Constituent wants to file a complaint aganst BTD. His car was towed over the weekend of July first. He went to Canada on friday and there wasn't a temporary/no parking sign posted on friday. His car was towed that Monday. He to the hearing to appeal the Ticket for $ 90 and they denied his request. The towing expense was $220. He would like the Mayor's office to help out with the expense because he wasn't around after the sign was put up to move his vehicle. Constituent was speaking with the Mayor's assistant and instructed to call 311 to have the details of a parking ticket complaint, 797010045. Ticket states the meter was unpaid (AW) badge #301, division 06, issued a $40 ticket at 1:08pm. Constituent states the supervisor of the parking clerk, Michelle, (OPC) hung up on them. Has a rental replacement vehicle for insurance, with NY plates, that has a handicapped placard which is why they were told the ticket was issued. Was asked by Michelle to provide a copy of the rental registration and a letter stating the vehicle was in their possession. Constituent parked on Fenway st and called 311 to verify if street cleaning was canceled for Veterans day. Constituent was told she is allowed to park there because street cleaning was cancelled. Constituent was then towed by the state police. Constituent wanted to make reference to this case and appeal the ticket because of the city & state miscommunication. Constituent had called the state line to appeal the ticket but was told to call city hall instead. The yellow ribbons on these parking cones are an extreme hazard to bikes. The wind blows them into the travel lane and the ribbon wrapped around my handlebars, causing me to crash, injure my arm and hip, destroy my bike helmet, and damage my bike. While I was on the ground another biker stopped and said the same thing happened to them yesterday. With all the offices in the building full time and fully staffed it?s more important than ever especially with people refusing to get the vaccine that the masks are worn at ALL TIMES. The parking clerk has been very lax for the past year with this rule and now not wearing masks at all!! Certainly not 6ft apart!
