I am reporting water entering my property at 61 Lexington Street, which appears to be coming from the side of the construction site at 55 Lexington Street. I have lived at this property for about 24 years, and my parents and other family members have lived here for more than 28 years. During all of that time, we have never experienced water entering our basement. This issue began after construction activities started at 55 Lexington Street. Before construction, 55 Lexington Street was simply a parking lot. We never had any water, drainage, or property damage issues with the previous conditions. On Tuesday, July 7, 2026, water entered our basement from the side of the construction site. My family and I spent hours cleaning up and removing water, and we continued cleaning on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, due to the amount of water that entered our property. At this time, our water heater/boiler has not been damaged, but we are concerned that continued water intrusion could cause damage to our home, create moisture issues, and lead to possible mold growth in the basement. We have also noticed damage along the side of our house and what appears to be a hole or opening near that area that may be contributing to the water entering our property. We have observed water collecting along the side of the construction site where it borders 61 Lexington Street, and we are concerned that construction may have changed the drainage flow. I have reported this issue through Boston 311, but my cases have been closed even though the concern remains unresolved. I also contacted the realtor involved with the construction on July 7, 2026, to make them aware of the situation. With additional rain expected, we are concerned that more water may enter our property and cause further damage. We are requesting an inspection of the construction site, drainage conditions, and the area between 55 Lexington Street and 61 Lexington Street to determine the cause and prevent additional flooding.

  • Pothole

    Commonwealth Ave & Naples Rd

The contractor who worked here has a patch in the road that’s failed. It’s sunken in a couple of inches, kind of like a reverse speed hump.
