Snow Plowing/Salting
70 A South St, Jamaica Plain, Ma, 02130I am writing about the snowplowing in the parking lot of the Margarita Muñiz Academy on the Carolina Ave. side of the school. My house adjoins this parking lot, which incidentally was not a parking lot when I bought my house, about 38 years ago. The problem is that the snowplowers try to scrape all the snow from the lot, north to south, and push it next to my house. A mountain of snow builds up; in the past, they pushed the snow up against my house. Some years ago, I got the school set off a piece of land in the parking lot, next to my house, with a curb, so the snow couldn't pile up against my house any longer. Nevertheless, the snowplowers still try to push the snow as far as possible towards my house. When the snow melts, it contributes to flooding my basement. I wrote to the Mayor about this; the principal from the school called me and said he would speak to school facilities staff. However, he has no control over the snowplows himself. And at the last snowfall, the plow driver hadn't been told anything about it (and of course, pushed snow towards my house, over the curb, until I ran out -- late at night, because that's when they come -- and asked him to push the snow in the other directions). Tomorrow there will be another snowstorm. I have so much anxiety, that the plows will again push all the snow my way. PLEASE tell the snowplow drivers who clear this lot not to push all the snow to the west, north, and east sid
