149 Northern Ave, Boston, Ma, 02210Boston Animal Care & Control- staff conduct/complaint I made a report with Boston Animal Care and Control on 11/25 around 2:00 AM because I saw a bunny with a head wound that had not moved in a while based on camera footage. Although I explained that the bunny was most likely dead since it had not moved in over an hour and there was blood coming from its head, I was told an officer would still be sent. When the officer arrived, he showed up with an attitude and said, “You just woke up an on call officer for this, who also has to work their regular shift in the morning.” This completely caught me off guard because I was only trying to do the right thing for the animal in case there was still any chance it was alive. I was already distressed and crying after seeing the poor bunny bleeding out while waiting for animal control and to be met with such hostility by a public worker whose job is to handle situations like this was extremely disappointing. After making that comment, the officer opened a trash bag and snatched the dead bunny away. The lack of empathy, professionalism, and basic respect from an Animal Control worker is unacceptable especially during a sensitive wildlife call. I am requesting that someone reach out to me so I can identify the officer who responded that night and move forward with a formal complaint.
