Road drainage. Newly paved road with poor elevation measurement reading has caused road drain not to receive water from road way causing standing water in road. This will cause premature determination of road with weather conditions throughout the year. Sad the city spends money and gets this in return. 21+ years and never had this before.

I have been in contact with the NPS and our Charlestown Representative about having a public trash receptacle installed along 5th street in the Charlestown Navy Yard. To recap my conversation with NPS and others, we have seen a large amount of trash being left in the bushes and green space between the ropewalk building and our building (Muster House, 31 5th street). Over the past year. On average we collect a 50-gallon trash bin worth of debris that have been left in the area on bi-weekly to monthly basis. This has previously included hazardous trash like needles etc and nips, food trash, etc. We have been working to keep this area clean ourselves, but it is becoming increasingly difficult with summer camps and others leaving trash in the area as they enter and exit the Navy Yard on our property. We also do not have anywhere to put a dumpster so disposal is very difficult to deal with. I would like to work the city to have a trash can installed on 5th street to alleviate these issues. Currently, the closest public trash is available across 1st Ave, adjacent to Dry Dock 2. We would be happy to assist with the cost of installation if the helps move things along. I have attached a photograph showing a potential install location that would see most of the foot traffic entering and exiting the Navy Yard passing by it.
